Effective Date: March 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Audio & Video Cutter (referred to as "the App") handles information and user data. We believe privacy should be simple and transparent, especially for tools that work directly with your personal media.
The App is built as an offline-first media editing application. All media processing happens on your device. We do not operate our own backend servers for media processing, though some features integrate with trusted third-party services (see Third-Party Services below).
Core Features & On-Device Processing
Audio & Video Cutter accesses media files and device settings only when you explicitly initiate an action. All media processing happens entirely on your device:
- Audio trimming and ringtone creation
- Video trimming for short clips and status videos
- Extracting audio from video files
- Merging multiple audio files into a single track
- Recording audio directly using your device microphone
- Converting between audio and video formats
Your audio and video files are never uploaded to any server. All editing, trimming, merging, extracting, converting, and recording happens locally on your device.

Personal Data Collection
We do not collect, store, or share personal information such as:

- Recorded microphone audio
- Location data
- Browsing or app usage history
Your files remain under your full control and stay on your device at all times.
Local Data Storage
The App stores limited data locally on your device to improve your experience:
- Recent History: Paths to recently edited files (stored locally for quick access)
- App Settings: Your preferences (playback speed, default export format, etc.)
- Subscription Status: Local cache of your Pro subscription status for offline use
This data is stored only on your device and is never uploaded or shared. You can clear this data anytime by uninstalling the App or clearing App data in Settings.
Third-Party Services
While media processing happens on your device, the App integrates with the following trusted third-party services:
1. Google AdMob (Advertising)
The App displays advertisements using Google AdMob (banner and interstitial ads). AdMob may automatically collect certain data to serve and measure ads. This data is collected by Google, not by us.
Information AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID (or non-personalized alternative)
- Device information (model, OS version)
- Approximate location (based on IP address)
- Ad interaction data (impressions and clicks)
- Crash and performance diagnostics
You can manage ad personalization through your Google account settings. Learn more: Google Privacy Policy
2. RevenueCat & Google Play Billing (Subscriptions)
The App offers a Pro subscription for advanced features. Subscription processing is handled through:
- Google Play Billing: Processes payment transactions securely
- RevenueCat: Manages subscription status and entitlements
RevenueCat may collect:
- Subscription status and plan information
- Purchase history (managed by Google Play)
- Device identifiers (for license verification)
- Analytics about subscription usage
Payment details are processed securely by Google Play and are never shared with us or RevenueCat. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through Google Play > My Apps > Audio & Video Cutter > Subscription.
Learn more: RevenueCat Privacy Policy • Google Play Privacy
3. Firebase Cloud Messaging (Push Notifications)
The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. This service is provided by Google and may collect:
- FCM registration tokens (for delivery identification)
- Device identifiers
- Notification interaction data (delivered, opened, dismissed)
What notifications are used for:
- Processing updates (e.g., "Your audio is ready")
- Feature announcements and updates
- Subscription reminders
- Important app notifications
You can disable notifications anytime:
- App Level: Go to the App's notification settings and toggle off
- System Level: Go to Settings > Apps > Audio & Video Cutter > Notifications > Toggle Off
Learn more: Firebase Privacy & Security
Internet Usage
Internet access is required only for:
- Loading and displaying advertisements (AdMob)
- Processing subscription and entitlement checks (RevenueCat)
- Receiving push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging)
All media editing, recording, and file conversion features work fully offline. You can use the App without an internet connection for core media editing.

- Go to Settings > Apps > Audio & Video Cutter > Permissions
- Toggle off any permission you don't want to grant

Data Security & Accuracy
While the App processes all media on your device (which is secure by design), we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to third-party services (AdMob, RevenueCat, Firebase). We use industry-standard practices and partner with trusted providers, but network transmission inherently carries minimal risk.
For maximum privacy, you can disable internet features (ads, subscriptions, notifications) and use the App for offline media editing.
Policy Updates
This Privacy Policy may be updated to reflect new features, services, or legal requirements. Any changes will be published on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
